Be transported to the forest this autumn with Capturing the Forest, an installation and live intervention by acclaimed artists Kristina Veasey (UK) and Alejandro Ahmed (Brazil). Merging sculpture, ceramics, sound, film and movement, this groundbreaking international collaboration brings the essence of the forest to you, exploring accessible routes into nature while immersing you in the landscape.

As disabled artists, both Veasey and Ahmed have faced challenges in accessing nature. This artwork is their tribute to the forest, inspired by the experiences of those who love the natural world but may not be able to visit it. Drawing from the vastly different forests of the UK and Brazil, they use design, AI, raw materials, and live broadcast to create a sensory-rich celebration of nature, art, and technology.

The event is run on a pay what you decide basis.

Join us at 5pm on Friday 1 November for a live intervention, when the forest comes alive as Alejandro Ahmed broadcasts digital sound and visuals from his studio in Brazil. Using call-and-response inspired by birds calling to one another across the canopy, Kristina and Alejandro invite you on a sensory journey into a magical, liminal forest world.

ACCESS INFORMATION

Capturing the Forest is an immersive installation comprising pools of light in darkness. Each pool of light contains sculpture, film and design. The smells and sounds of nature fill the space and you are invited to engage in artist-led forest bathing. Earplugs available on request.

Lights will not create a strobe effect.

The installation is located in a theatre space – see ACCA access and parking information.

An audio and written description of the installation will be available for the duration of the show.
