About
Blast Theory Can You See Me Now?
This webpage is for those booking a place to play the mixed reality game Can You See Me Now? through the mobile app - remotely (where it suits you) or at the gaming hub at Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA).
Can You See Me Now? is a thrilling mobile chase game with a twist. Download the app and you’re dropped into a colourful 3D world where you swap tactics with other players to avoid being caught by the game’s runners.
The twist? The 3D world of the game is based on the real courtyards and buildings of the campus around ACCA. And as your player dodges round corners and down cut-throughs to evade the runners, those runners are chasing you in real time across the campus: working up a sweat and streaming their taunts via live audio.
Play on your mobile from the comfort of an armchair. Please book your tickets using the BOOK NOW button below. Book your slot now and let the games begin!
Ticket bookers will be sent an email in advance of the event with instructions on how to download and test the app on your device. Please see Frequently Asked Questions for more details on compatible devices.
There will be a “gaming hub” at Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts for players who would prefer to come to the venue and play the game in person, along with others, as a communal activity. You are welcome to join us at the venue to play in person if you prefer. See visit us pages for more detail.

Can You See Me Now? is created by Brighton based artists Blast Theory in collaboration with the Mixed Reality Lab. Blast Theory make interactive art to explore social and political questions. The group’s work places the public at the centre of unusual and sometimes unsettling experiences, to create new perspectives and open up the possibility of change.
Can You See Me Now? is one the world’s first location based games, a winner of the Prix Ars Electronica. Cited by VICE as a forerunner of Pokémon Go, Can You See Me Now? toured from Tokyo to Tate Britain. Redeveloped for mobile in 2024, the game premieres at ACCA this autumn.
“Amidst the hype about the metaverse, we are still wondering what community online looks like. How are we connected or disconnected with friends and strangers? In what sense is the online world a shared space?” - Matt Adams, Blast Theory artist
