About
The Inaugural Long Man Lecture: Dr Janina Ramirez
The Sussex Archaeological Society present their inaugural Long Man Lecture with Oxford University and BBC historian, Dr Janina Ramirez.
Dr Ramirez is a gifted presenter, lecturer and researcher who specialises in interpreting symbols and examining art works within their historical context. A passionate academic driven by a desire to share ideas, she has published widely on medieval art and literature. Her latest book, 'Femina', looks at the history of the Middle Ages and “the women who were written out of it”. Dr Ramirez will be signing copies of her book after the lecture.
This is the first annual Long Man Lecture, a fundraising event welcoming prestigious speakers to present on important issues facing our understanding of the past and its impact on our future. All monies raised will support the work of the Sussex Archaeological Society, a registered charity which promotes, protects and provides access to the history and heritage of Sussex.
