University of Sussex Sustainability team present: Pitch for the Planet 2023
Join us this spring to hear current University of Sussex students Pitch for the Planet!
In Pitch for the Planet, eight teams or individuals will take part in a Dragons’ Den style challenge, pitching their sustainable innovation ideas, with the hope of winning a share of £30,000 of funding and a place on the Sussex Accelerator scheme to help turn their sustainability ideas into reality.
Get ready to be inspired as the next generation of social entrepreneurs find solutions to some of the world’s most difficult problems in relation to:
- Ethical Educators – embedding sustainability in student experience teaching and research
- Decarbonising the Economy – reducing carbon as we work to create a net zero world
- Civic Leaders and Partners – supporting sustainability in the community, including sustainable travel and supply chains
- Environmental Champions – creating responsible production and consumption in areas including food, water, waste and biodiversity.
Our judging panel:
- Allan Spencer – Finance Director and Sustainability Executive Sponsor
- Darren Tenkorang – founder of TRIM-IT and Sussex Entrepreneur in Residence
- Lucy Hughes – founder of MarinaTex and Sussex alumna
- Dr Shova Thapa Karki - Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Sustainability
